People Make it Human
I’ve spent quite a bit of time in the last few years writing music that is mainly from my computer, “out of the box.” A goal this year was to start incorporating musicians in the music I’m writing. At a sync music conference this summer, a fellow attendee recommended Duos Duet who are the musicians that played violin and cello. I can’t express how pleased I am with how it turned out. While I certainly like the demo (“out of the box”) I created, having people who really know their instruments was invaluable. It was fun to have a back and forth with them as we passed audio files back and forth, trying to nail down the final intention of the music. There is a part in the final version that was played much differently than originally intended. Perhaps someday, I’ll dig up the demo and we can compare.
It Takes a Village
During the mix with my engineer JD, somehow my file versioning protocol got WAY out of control. But as usual, JD was able to corral it all into a coherent product in the end.
Enjoy!

Dave, "Forecasting" is really, really beautiful. By chance, is this yet available on Apple Music?
